Dream Corps for Harmonious Development International, or Dream Corps for short, is a not-for-profit organization set up by overseas Chinese that is aimed at promoting rural education, rural economy, and rural life through the establishment of Dream Libraries as public space and public resource for rural communities.

As overseas Chinese, we cherish our Chinese heritage, we are hopeful for the future of China, and we long to contribute to the sustainable and harmonious development of our homeland. Through our summer volunteer program and year-round support Dream Corps strive to channel human and financial resources towards left-behind areas in China. In the meantime, our members combine their professional expertise with volunteer activities towards the understanding and betterment of rural education, rural health, rural technology, and rural community development.

We recognize the fundamental limitation of discussions that remain merely academic; we hope to practice our sense of social responsibility through our volutneer activities in rural schools and communities.

Every child is entitled to a dream.
Our dreams from yesterday guided us to today.
Along the way, we received countless encouragement and support.
We are now attempting to give children of today the same encouragement and support.
Maybe that could help make a small difference in their life.

I also have a dream, a wish: every Chinese will live a good life, every child in the rural area will be able to go to school, every person at employment age wll find work; with their health care provided for, especially health care in the rural area, people will not feel helpless when ill. This, I think, is also the dream of every Chinese.                               -- Wen Jiaobao
