Dream Corps was founded by overseas Chinese students and scholars and led by professionals in Education, Industry, Research, and Social Work. Relying on the participation of overseas and domestic students, we try to bring together all those who care about the future of China, concerned about the underprivleged in the society, and willing to contribute to the education of children, whether they are inside or outside schools, inside or outside China. Broad social basis and grassroots support are the foundation of our prgrams and the precondition of their success.

From the very beginning, Dream Corps have enjoyed the support of teachers and students, parents and community leaders, education administrative authorities, and local governments. We have also had the privilege to collaborate with Sociology Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Brooks Center for Education Consultation in Beijing, the Rural China Education Foundation, the Evergreen Education Foundation, Oversea China Education Foundation, Cary Chinese School, Jinan University Rural and Agricultural Association, the Spring Sprout Education Assistance Network of Yibin, Sichuan. We have also recieved grants from the Beijing Bureau of the Ford Foundation, the Chen Yet-Sen Family Foundation of Hong Kong, the Asian Pacific Studies Institute of Duke University and pro bono consulting service from Deloitte Canada.

Moreover, since its establishment, Dream Corps have received the encouragement and support of the Chinese Embassy in the United States. On November 29, 2004, the Ambassador at the time and current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Yang Jiechi, inscribed the following words for Dream Corps: Hope Dream Corps will help more children in China realize their dreams.
